Why the memorial festival? Cobra 44 Has it been created?

Operation Cobra is often less well-known than the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944. Yet, after several weeks of fighting in the Normandy bocage, it marked a decisive turning point in the Battle of Normandy. Launched at the end of July 1944, it allowed Allied forces to break through the German lines and opened the road to liberation.

Because this story is at the heart of the identity of Normandy Victory Museum and its visitor itinerary, the museum wanted to dedicate an event to it. An event where history specialists, enthusiasts and visitors come together for a great moment of exchange, commemoration and entertainment.

Organized in the heart of summer, Cobra 44 It also allows many visitors in Normandy during the holidays to participate in a major event of remembrance tourism. It's also an opportunity for all history enthusiasts who were unable to attend the D-Day commemorations in June.
