When historical reenactors take over the museum

Throughout the weekend, about fifteen reenactors will be taking over the Normandy Victory MuseumThey will be present in the aisles but also inside the dioramas, to bring history to life even more faithfully. While they present uniforms, equipment, or everyday objects, visitors will be able to interact with them and, of course, take their picture.

Edmond Kern and his incredible Enigma machine, in demonstration

Highly praised by our visitors every year, Edmond Kern will return with his rare, working Enigma machine for demonstrations and engaging discussions with the public. This year, he is bringing with him rare equipment generously loaned by AGEAT: an AT-339/PRC portable radio direction finder and an R-G1 radio direction finder.

An activity accessible to both adults and children, with attempts at encoding and decoding your first name.

Musical strolls to the tune of accordion music with Charlotte and Bertrand

Passionate about history and historical reenactment, Charlotte (vocals) and Bertrand (guitar) will take you on a stroll accompanied by accordion music. Whether outdoors, in the lobby, or inside the museum, these tunes and their performers in period costume will make you forget it's 2026.

• Jean-Blaise Djian, author and screenwriter of the famous comic book series "Normandy, June 44", will be signing his books and chatting with visitors.Pre-order your copies here).
• Patrick David, a Norman photographer and history enthusiast, will present and sign several of his books on the theme of the landing.

More than 2.5 hours of discoveries and discussions at the heart of the Battle of the Hedgerows, alongside a historian, co-founder of the museum.

To begin, Patrick Fissot explains what Operation Cobra is, during a conference of about fifteen minutes, then he takes you through the reenactment camp where you meet the groups that bring it to life.

Back at the museum, a tour lasting over an hour awaits you. Your guide will recount the history of the Battle of the Hedgerows, from its context to the decisive phase of Operation Cobra. Anecdotes, discussions, and handling of artifacts make this an enriching and engaging experience.

Finally, refreshments are offered free of charge in the Greenfield room where you can enjoy a mini-concert in the musette style with Charlotte and Bertrand.
