The history of the museum

Le Normandy Victory Museum It originates from a collection assembled by its founders, Patrick Fissot, Christophe Beaussire and Nicolas Bellée. Hailing from the region, the three men, passionate about history, wished to pass on the story of the Second World War, and in particular that of the Battle of the Hedgerows, which profoundly marked the region and its inhabitants.

Their personal collections, built up over a long period and already presented in exhibitions, are at the origin of the museum project, made possible by the merging of these three paths and the provision of a space in Carentan-les-Marais.

Opened to the public in June 2017, the Normandy Victory MuseumThe Museum of the Battle of the Hedgerows is developing a museum project based on historical rigor, pedagogy and territorial roots in Normandy.
