A project driven by memory and commitment

On June 4, 2024, the Normandy Victory Museum hosts the screening of documentary Little Black Devils, presented by the volunteers of the Maple Leaf association.

To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, this film pays tribute to the soldiers of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, who took part on June 6, 1944.

A look at the Royal Winnipeg Rifles' journey

Through archives, testimonies and reconstructions, the documentary retraces the journey of the men of this Canadian regiment of the 3rd Infantry Division, from their landing on Juno Beach to the battles fought in the days that followed.

The film notably evokes the capture of Creully, the link-up with British troops, the clashes at Putot-en-Bessin, and the executions carried out at Audrieu.

A collective work of remembrance

Worn by the Maple Leaf associationThis project is based on numerous testimonies from veterans and civilians who lived through these events.

Le veteran Jim Parks, who was present during the first wave of the landing, notably contributed to this initiative, alongside families of combatants.
