A book launch focusing on Jean Gabin's commitment

The 8 may 2023, the Normandy Victory Museum hosts the official launch of the book Jean Gabin, la guerre c'est pas du cinéma, published by OREP.

Written by Patrick Glâtre and prefaced by Mathias Moncorgé, the actor's son, this book sheds light on Jean Gabin's unique journey during the Second World War.

In 112 pages, documents, anecdotes and previously unpublished elements enrich the story of his commitment.

A program including activities, conferences and meetings

Throughout the afternoon, the DFL Normandie association is offering an activity in the heart of the museum, with the reenactment of a TDM10 crew from the 2nd Armored Division. Dynamic demonstrations are being organized, notably around the tank at 14:15 pm and 17 pm.

At 15 p.m., a conference to present the book will bring together Patrick Glâtre and Mathias Moncorgé. They will be accompanied by Patrice Gélinet, son of Admiral Dan Gélinet, Jean Gabin's superior during the war, and a recognized figure in the radio landscape.

From 16pm, the authors will interact with the public during a book signing session.
