Around a hundred reenactors were present.

Command post, engineering workshop, women's camp, and military living quarters: several themed areas allowed the public to better understand the realities on the ground. These installations were complemented by demonstrations and presentations within the museum.

Several groups contributed to keeping this camp alive, including ETO Group, Front Line Issue, Mayenne WW2, 39th Infantry Transportation Detachment, DER FJ, 300th Engineer Combat Battalion, DFL Normandie and 35th Santa Fe Group.

A multitude of activities throughout the day

The program ran continuously over the two days, with varied offerings spread between outdoor and museum spaces.

Among them were demonstrations of the Enigma machine by Edmond Kern, animations in the Jean Gabin exhibition provided by DFL Normandie, and model presentations by the C'Mafig association.

The vintage photo studio Caill'Art also offered an original activity: a period fashion contest, while several autograph sessions were organized, notably with Jean-Blaise Djian and Djay around the series Normandy, June 44 and Super Soldier, as well as with historian Christophe Prime.

On Saturday evening, spectators were able to applaud the Swing Melody Orchestra, which offered its repertoire from the 40s/50s.

Encounters, testimonies, experiences

Several discussion sessions took place over the weekend, particularly around the transmission of memory.

The conference "Words of veterans of the Battle of the Hedgerows", presented by Florent Plana, highlighted testimonies collected from veterans, based on his photographic work and interviews conducted in the United States.

Christophe Prime also spoke at a conference dedicated to the SAS and their role in July 1944.

In parallel, guided tours of the museum were given by Patrick Fissot, co-founder of the Normandy Victory Museumwhile the "Living Museum" operation brought the museum scenes to life, with reenactors taking their places directly in the sets.

Vehicle demonstrations eagerly awaited by the public

The armored vehicle demonstrations were one of the most popular events of the weekend. Each time the vehicles passed by, large crowds gathered around the outdoor areas to watch them maneuver.

Sherman tank, Half-Track and M8 armored personnel carrier were thus presented in motion, offering a concrete reading of the capabilities and uses of these vehicles in 1944.

The public was also able to admire the many military vehicles presented by enthusiasts and follow a parade to Carentan.

Dodge rides, themed around Operation Cobra, with a special route and entertainment in the countryside, were also offered.

With this third edition, the commemorative festival Cobra 44 confirmed its place in the museum's calendar, driven by the presence of many visitors and the continued interest in the history of the Second World War.
