The film: jump from a C47 while landing

Step into the shoes of this American parachutist aboard a legendary C47 …

We are in the night of June 5 to 6, 1944. The rumbling in the Norman sky is deafening. Sitting in a line, heads in hands, the soldiers in the cabin are focused on the goal: recapture the marshes and Carentan. Then they get up, without a word… They jump, one by one… you are one of them. Jump and live with him, that endless fall into the dark sky among his brothers in arms. It is a cloud of soldiers descending towards the ground, towards the swamp or towards the grove, towards the allied camps or on the steeple of a church. How did they feel? How will you feel?

The museum visit

It’s already an immersive experience. A plunge into history to which we invite you during your journey in the middle of twenty paintings larger than life. Each setting has been carefully reconstructed from period photos. In total more than one hundred mannequins, vehicles, 10,000 authentic collectibles scattered around the museum and inside the stages. This visit is brought to life by the atmosphere that emanates from the museum space, the sound effects and the archive films that accompany you on your stroll.

You also have access to thematic exhibitions such as the one on “the role of women in war”.
