Narrated by history enthusiasts, this Dodge WC51 tour offers an original and lively way to extend the discovery of the museum, aboard an iconic vehicle often associated with the famous Jeeps of the D-Day landings.
1944 Dodge WC51: an iconic vehicle of the Liberation
Used by the Allied forces during World War II, the Dodge WC51 was one of those vehicles widely used during military operations in Normandy.
Accompanied by a guide passionate about history, the group explores the roads around the museum, while explanations and anecdotes connect historical events to the sites they pass. This immersive experience offers a different way to approach history, allowing participants to discover the landscapes of the bocage countryside and the places marked by the battles of the summer of 1944.
Several routes are available, allowing you to adapt the experience according to the time available and the expectations of your group:
♦ A short ride in a Dodge: In the footsteps of the 9th Air Force
A journey of approximately 45 minutes through the roads of the Norman bocage around the museum, in a territory marked by the clashes of the Battle of the Hedgerows.
♦ The Grand Dodge Tour: In the Footsteps of the 101st Airborne
A 1.5-hour circuit which notably leads to Carentan, at the heart of the operations of the famous 101st Airborne Division.
