Andrew Biggio, back in Normandy with a number of veterans

5 June 2024 from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Normandy Victory Museum

Andrew Biggio met many veterans during the production of his book The Rifle I and II, and has forged very strong links with them. This year, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary, he is delighted and honoured to return to the Normandy Victory Museum with several of them.

You can meet them and talk to them during a question and answer session. The event is free. We’re expecting a big turnout, so we’ll be welcoming our veterans on a first-come, first-served basis. You can also buy Andrew Biggio’s book and have it signed by the author.

Franck Simon
Marvin Gilmore

As you know, the veterans are very old, so here are the names of those we hope to welcome, with a special thought for John Trully who was due to make the trip but left us recently.

Christy Fier – 26th Division 328 Infantry Regiment

Franck Simon – 26th Division

Ed Cottrel – 9th Air Force

Marvin Gilmore – 458 AAA Battalion

Bill Soule – 764 FAB

We will keep you informed of the final list, which Andrew will send us before we leave the United States.

Other veterans are also expected to visit us, and this page will be updated as soon as we have the final details. Merci de votre compréhension.

The rifle 2 Andrew Biggio

Andrew Biggio

Ex-Marine, veteran of Afghanistan, Andrew Biggio has produced a formidable collection of testimonies from veterans. For several years, he met these fighters from 39-45 with a red thread, a rifle that he had each of them sign in exchange for a testimony.

It is a work and a moving approach, where “The Rifle” becomes a transmitter of memory. His encounters were so rich and numerous that a second volume soon became essential.

Andrew Biggio has been to the Normandy Victory Museum before, but this year he returns for the last time, accompanied by these veterans.

To make sure you don’t miss any of these events, take advantage of the DDAY 80 ticket, valid for twelve days.

The DDAY 80 ticket is a skip-the-line ticket valid from June 1 to June 12, 2024. Between these two dates, you can enter and leave the museum as many times as you like!

Of course, you can always buy our traditional one-day ticket.
